Academic Advising

New RPCC Students

If you are starting your first semester at RPCC, or you are returning to RPCC after not attending for more than one semester, you may schedule an advising appointment with a Staff Advisor in the Office of Student Services. A Staff Advisor can assist you with selecting a plan of study that is consistent with your academic and/or career goals. Student Services staff members also provide help with and/or information about the following:

• Course selection and scheduling
• Placement testing
• College policies and procedures
• Personal issues that may be interfering with academic success
• Career concerns
• Transfer issues/resources
• Study skills information
• Time management
• Decision-making skills

Continuing RPCC Students

All RPCC students are assigned to a Faculty Advisor mid-way through their first semester at RPCC. If you are a continuing RPCC student (meaning that you have attended RPCC for one or more consecutive semesters) your Faculty Advisor can assist you with scheduling your courses.

Once you are assigned to a Faculty Advisor, that Faculty Advisor will reach out to you via email. If you do not know who your Faculty Advisor is, you can view your Advisor in Lola under Academic Profile or you can log into Canvas and open your Y.O.D.A. Course. This course introduces you to your Faculty Advisor. Within this course you will have direct contact information and an open line of communication with your Faculty Advisor.
