Student Government Association

The purpose of the Student Government Association (SGA) is to encourage meaningful participation in student activities, to represent and execute the student will, and to promote the general welfare of self-government. SGA members, who are elected by the student body, represent all RPCC students by providing input into College policies and College management. During the fall and spring semesters, the SGA members serve as the voice of advocacy for all students on the RPCC campus.

The RPCC SGA meets Fridays at 1 p.m. in the Student Center on the Gonzales Campus of each month during the regular semesters. Meetings of the RPCC SGA are also held once a month during the summer and holiday months. Meetings are open to all currently-enrolled RPCC students. SGA members are required to attend.

Students are elected to serve as executive officers (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) each April. Tuition waivers are available for executive officers only. Students can also be elected to serve as senators. Stipends are available for senators. The application and election process are done through Canvas as announcements to all students.
