River Parishes Community College supports students in developing a clear pathway from RPCC to a four-year college or university. Students can begin their education at RPCC, complete coursework or an associate degree, and continue toward a bachelor’s degree while benefiting from affordable tuition, flexible course options, and personalized academic planning.
RPCC students have several options for transfer, including Louisiana’s statewide transfer pathways as well as additional program-specific agreements established with university partners.
The Louisiana Transfer Degree provides a statewide pathway for students who plan to begin at a Louisiana community college and continue their education at a public four-year university.
RPCC offers the Associate of Arts Louisiana Transfer (AALT) and Associate of Science Louisiana Transfer (ASLT) degrees with multiple completion options. Louisiana Transfer Degrees are designed to provide students with a strong foundation of transferable coursework while preparing them to continue toward a bachelor’s degree.
Completion options for the Louisiana Transfer degree include Universal Transfer Pathway (UTPs). UTPs are statewide, major-specific pathways established by the Louisiana Board of Regents that identify the courses students should complete during the first 60 credit hours of their degree for transfer into a corresponding bachelor’s degree program at participating Louisiana public universities.
UTPs provide students with a more clearly defined academic roadmap by aligning RPCC coursework with the requirements of specific bachelor’s degree programs.
Students should work with an RPCC advisor to select the Louisiana Transfer Degree and the Universal Transfer Pathway that best aligns with their intended major and transfer institution.
In addition to the Louisiana Transfer Degree and Universal Transfer Pathways, RPCC has entered into transfer agreements with university partners for specific academic programs. These agreements provide additional transfer opportunities and may identify recommended coursework, course equivalencies, degree requirements, or a defined pathway from an RPCC program into a particular bachelor’s degree.
