Reboot Your Career

Carpenter/ Scaffolding

Industrial scaffolding is a high-skill, high-wage, high-demand profession. During industrial turnarounds, shutdowns, and outages, scaffold builders are the first to enter a project and the last to leave. Average wages for an entry-level scaffold builder range anywhere from $14 to $17 per hour, with work schedules ranging from 5 to 7 days a week, 8-10 hours per day, making industrial scaffolding a lucrative career option for many.

Basic Access, Industrial Scaffolding (BAIS)

Training for an entry-level helper. This course condenses 6-7 months of on-the-job-training into 2 weeks. Trainees are an immediate asset in the field upon graduation from the course. Students receive training on professionalism, time management, fall protection, scaffold safety, proper tie-off, material inspection and learn how to erect and dismantle 4 different types of system scaffold.

This assessment-only process is only 2 days and will be held on the first Wednesday and Thursday of the month. Students who pass the assessment are eligible for the Carpenter class. Students who fail will have to go through the BAIS training course to receive certification.
