What is Ptec express?

RPCC’s PTEC Express program is an accelerated program in which participants complete the Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) in Process Technology in 9 weeks. The program is rigorous, and graduates have many career opportunities in the process technology industry.

Who is eligible?

PTEC Express applicants must have completed the following courses with a grade of “C” or better at RPCC or any other regionally accredited college or university prior to starting PTEC Express:

o   College Algebra, 3 credit hours (MATH 1100)

o   English Composition I, 3 credit hours (ENGL 1010)

o   Business & Professional Communication, 3 credit hours (ENGL 2300)

o   Physical Science or Physics, 3 credit hours (PHSC 1010 or PHYS 2010)

o   Physical Science or Physics Lab, 1 credit hour (PHSC 1010L or PHYS 2010L)

o   Chemistry, 3 credit hours (CHEM 1010)

o   Chemistry Lab, 1 credit hours (CHEM 1010L)

o   Techniques of Speech, 3 credit hours (SPCH 1200)

o   Micro or Macro Economics, 3 credit hours (ECON 2010 or ECON 2020)

o   Introduction to Computer Technology, 3 credit hours (CSCI 1010)

How do I apply?

PTEC Express is a selective admission program. Application deadline is April 1, 2023. You must complete all 4 steps below by April 1, 2023 to be considered for admission into RPCC’s Summer 2023 PTEC Express Program:

STEP 1: Apply to RPCC for the summer 2023

STEP 2: After you apply, you will receive an email that will provide you with your Student ID#

STEP 3: Complete this form

STEP 4: Request that your official transcripts be sent to RPCC from all other colleges you have ever attended. *NOTE* If you attended RPCC, you do not need to send your RPCC transcript.

When will I know if I have been accepted?

You will be notified via email by April 25, 2023

If I am accepted, what’s next?

If you are accepted to the PTEC Express program, you will be required to attend an orientation session on May 12, 2023.

Classes start May 25, 2023.
