Meet the RPCC Pet Plant Donors

The major donation of processing equipment by BASF got this project started. ISC has produced drawings for the civil work. ISC's evolution with Cox-Walker has brought together two major PET contributors who continue to provide outstanding work on this project.

Rubicon's Chris Albus has assumed a key leadership role taking over the engineering management from BASF's Jim Harkins who is fully retiring (but will remain an advisor to see his work come to fruition!) Chris is building on the foundation laid by Harkins and with support from BASF's Paul Frederic and Wes Juneau – their expertise and ability to connect manufacturing and service industries to the project has moved our coup de main right along.

Emerson continues to play a key role in this project as well providing expertise and automation solutions that are state of the art ensuring that the student experience will be second to none.

Each year, our legislative delegation meets with the LCTCS and RPCC leadership at one of our key partner locations. The 2019 meeting was held at Shell's Convent site and RPCC's Chancellor Doty and LCTCS President Sullivan could not have been more pleased when Rhoman Hardy, VP of Gulf Coast Manufacturing Operations and Allen Pertuit, Convent Refinery General Manager presented Shell's major donation of $100,000 to the PET build. This donation was utilized to complete the pad construction and facilitate the civil work. The legislative delegation representing House Districts 56, 59, & 88, and senate Districts 2, 18 & 19 were wowed by the collaboration and the investment from the manufacturing, service, and service support partners across the region.

G.E.O. Heat Exchangers has donated two major exchangers and all are on track for fabrication completion within the timeline. RPCC has purchased and received the boiler and other key pieces of equipment. Entergy, Lift Tech, Methanex and so many more partners have committed time, expertise, equipment and cash donations that the energy level amongst the volunteer teams is at an all time high. At every level and every meeting, the driving force is what will best benefit the educational process and how can the RPCC students in every applicable field be involved in this build.
