River Parishes Community College (RPCC), in partnership with CSRS and ARKEL Constructors, will host a Community Engagement & Contractor Awareness Event aimed at encouraging broad participation from local and regional businesses in the construction of the future RPCC Hyundai Training Center.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lemann Center in Donaldsonville and will provide contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers with information about upcoming opportunities connected to the project.
The RPCC Hyundai Training Center is part of a larger workforce development initiative tied to Hyundai Motor Group’s historic $5.8 billion investment in Louisiana, which includes the company’s first North American steel manufacturing facility.
Organizers say the event is intended to ensure that qualified businesses—particularly those based in and around Donaldsonville and the surrounding parishes—are aware of opportunities and understand how to engage in the procurement and participation process.
Attendees will hear directly from project representatives and gain insight into:
- Project scope and timeline
- Upcoming bid opportunities
- Contractor participation processes
Ways local and regional businesses can position themselves for involvement
Businesses from Donaldsonville and Ascension, Iberville, St. James, and St. John the Baptist Parishes are especially encouraged to attend.
“The RPCC Hyundai Training Center represents a transformative investment in workforce development and economic growth for our region,” said RPCC Chancellor Quintin D. Taylor. “We want to ensure local businesses are informed, engaged, and positioned to participate in the opportunities this project will create.”
