Policy 

River Parishes Community College reserves the right to prohibit disruptive or potentially dangerous persons from its campuses.

Any individual—whether a currently enrolled student, a person taking classes on campus who is not an officially enrolled RPCC student, or any campus visitor found in possession of firearms and/or making terroristic threats- will be escorted off the premises immediately. RPCC reserves the right to notify law enforcement and pursue legal action when appropriate.

The Dean of Students shall select a committee from various departments to determine if a Lifetime Ban should be invoked.  Any person who receives a Lifetime Ban will be prohibited from enrolling at RPCC in the future and attending any college-sanctioned events. Any person that disagrees with the final decision of a Lifetime Ban may appeal the decision within 5 business days to the Chancellor of the college by email. A person who has received a Lifetime Ban may be considered for reinstatement after a period of 5 to 10 years, subject to college review and approval.

It is the responsibility of the banned person to email the Dean of Students about any questions regarding the Lifetime Ban policy, the appeals process, or any substantive changes.

If and when there is a discrepancy between this Policy and LCTCS policy or federal or state law, the appropriate LCTCS policy or federal or state law will supersede this Policy.
