RPCC Action Committee
We are charged with developing meaningful, actionable, and measurable recommendations focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion for all faculty, staff and students at RPCC.
"I wanted to be a part of the DEI committee to help foster the synergy needed for an actionable, and authentic culture change to happen in how we think and respond to those around us, and to advocate for those who can not advocate for themselves."
"I joined the DEI Action Committee because I want to be a part of a group that establishes a supportive and welcoming working environment."
“DEI is the needed, overdue voice/ platform in an attempt to 'right' so much wrong. I want to be a part of this awareness and exposure to ensure it remains relevant.”
"I joined DEI because I believe that differences are what makes us special. With so much going on today, I think that we need to view those differences as assets not hindrances. I am hoping that with DEI being prevalent now, we will treat everyone as we want to be treated."
Dr. Esperonza Zenon
"I joined DEI because everybody’s voice matters!”
"When I first joined RPCC three years ago, I appreciated my Division Coordinator, Math Department, and anyone who made time to help me in every step and made sure I felt included. Now I am happy to pay it forward."
"I decided to be a part of the DEI Action Team because I feel passionate about creating a culture of transparency and understanding in our work environment. This work is important, and I feel that if I can add an experience or idea that can benefit even one person, I have met the goal."
“I joined RPCC to get back into public service, and I am currently the Registrar Specialist with Student Services. RPCC has welcomed me with open arms, and I consider myself lucky to be a part of the Rougarou Family."
“I joined DEI because in a world filled with confusion and conflict it’s more important than ever to truly treat each other as sisters and brothers like we were meant to."
