River Parishes Community College (RPCC) has reached a major milestone: the college has more than doubled both its student enrollment and number of college completers over the past three academic years, reflecting its strategic alignment with industry needs and the strength of its student-centered mission.
From academic year 2021–2022 to 2024–2025, RPCC increased total enrollment by more than 500 students, a 17% gain and the highest level in nearly a decade. The most dramatic growth came in the past year alone, with enrollment jumping to nearly 3,500, an 11% increase from the previous year showcasing the impact of targeted recruitment, workforce-aligned programs, expanded access across the region, and an internal mindset and cultural shift.
RPCC’s student completion rates are equally impressive. Between the 2022 and 2024 academic years, the number of total completers more than doubled, an increase of 887 graduates, including a 58% spike in 2023–2024 alone. The upward trend continued into 2024–2025 with an additional 258 completers, marking a 16% year-over-year increase.
“The momentum we are seeing is no accident,” said RPCC Chancellor Quintin D. Taylor. “It’s the result of intentional strategy, strong community and industry partnerships, and dedicated focus on supporting every student who walks through our doors. We are not just enrolling more students, we are graduating more students, changing lives, and transforming our region.”
The college’s growth in credit program completers is particularly notable. Over the past four years, the number of credit completers has risen from 584 to 1,431, a 145% increase. The largest gains occurred in 2023–2024, when RPCC added 394 credit completers (a 61% increase), followed by another 388 students in 2024–2025 (a 37% increase).
“These results are the product of tough decisions, expanding programs that meet real workforce demand, strengthening support systems for student success, and building pathways that remove barriers to completion,” added Chancellor Taylor. “We are proud of our students and the faculty and staff who make this progress possible.”
As RPCC prepares to open a large-scale regional workforce training center in Donaldsonville and continues expanding its partnerships across industry and education, the college remains committed to creating transformative opportunities for the people of the River Parishes and beyond.
