Course Scheduling – Advising

Orientation and Advising

Students who fall into one of the categories below may schedule classes only after being admitted to River Parishes Community College. If you haven’t yet applied to RPCC, you can apply online now. Once admitted, the Office of Admissions notifies students about the dates and process for scheduling classes.

Freshmen

The Office of Admissions notifies all new freshmen when they are eligible to begin the course registration process. All first-time freshmen schedule classes when they participate in RPCC’s Orientation and Advising Program.  Students attend an on-campus Information and advising session during which they create course schedules and receive parking stickers and ID cards.

Transfer

The Office of Admissions notifies all new transfer students when they are eligible to begin the course registration process. All first-time transfer students schedule classes when they participate in RPCC’s Orientation and Advising Program.  Students attend an on-campus Information and advising session during which they create course schedules and receive parking stickers and ID cards. It is recommended that all transfer work be submitted to the Office of Student Services prior to scheduled orientation date.

Dual Enrollment Students

Dually enrolled students, attending classes on RPCC’s campus, schedule classes by attending an advising session held either at an area high school or on RPCC’s campus. Contact your high school counselor for more information.
