Associate of Science in Teaching
The Associate of Science in Teaching is the perfect start towards a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. The Associate of Science in Teaching (AST) is a transfer degree that prepares students to successfully pass the curriculum of the Baccalaureate of Science in elementary Education from a Louisiana college/university.
Degrees are earned in a variety of environments including traditional seated classes, online, or hybrid classes. Please check the schedule of classes for your options.

Program Requirements
Please complete the AST Applications 1 year prior to your anticipated graduation date. Applications are accepted at all times. Interviews are conducted 3 times a year at the end of each semester: May, July, and November. If you have any AST questions, email ast@rpcc.edu.

Tuition for Online Courses:
Online courses may be hosted by RPCC or LCTCS Online. The tuition for all online courses is $138.96 per credit hour with no cap. The fees for online courses include all the mandatory fees plus any related course lab fees, which cap at 12 credit hours. There is a $40.00 Online Registration Fee per semester for enrollment in an online course.
