ASLT – Physical Sciences

Associate of Science / Louisiana Transfer Degree (ASLT): Physical Sciences Track
The Associate of Science Transfer degree program is designed for students who want to transfer from community/technical colleges to related baccalaureate degree programs at state universities in Louisiana. The Transfer Degree Guarantee (TDG) refers to a guaranteed and easy transfer for students from a 2-year community college to a public university in Louisiana. In most cases, courses used to satisfy Associate in Science Transfer degree will apply to university graduation requirements of the 4-year university major, and Louisiana Transfer graduates typically enter a 4-year Louisiana public university as a junior.

Sixty (60) credit hours are required for the degree with 39 hours required in approved General Education coursework and the remaining 21 hours of electives in pre-approved, discipline-specific coursework as preparation for continued studies in a related baccalaureate degree program. The General Education courses will transfer as a total block rather than by individual courses.

It is the student’s responsibility to choose courses that will maximize preparation for the university major, so it is important for students to do some research and work with advising when designing their Louisiana Transfer degree.

RPCC offers an Associate of Science Louisiana Transfer Degree with a concentration in Physical Science.

This degree can be earned through traditional seated classes, online, or hybrid classes.
