Academics at River Parishes Community College

River Parishes Community College, Academic Affairs, includes all technical and transfer credit programs, library services, and college-wide institutional effectiveness. Applying for Financial Aid

1. Be admitted fully to River Parishes Community College in a degree program. Apply Online.

Financial Aid Priority Dates:

Summer Semester: April 1st
Fall Semester: June 1st
Spring Semester: November 1st

How to Apply for Financial Aid

STEP 1: Create a FSA ID.

STEP 2: Complete your FAFSA online.

  1. Complete the entire application (enter “0” if not applicable).
  2. Enter RPCC’s school code 037894 in “School Selection”.
  3. Sign the application with your FSA ID (and your parents, if dependent).
  4. Submit application.
  5. Once your application has been processed, you will receive an e-mail from FAFSA.

*Please allow 5-7 business days after the receipt of e-mail for RPCC to retrieve your information.

STEP 3: Log in to your LoLA account to check the status of your financial aid/awards.***

  1. Check your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status in LoLA.
  2. If you are selected for verification, additional documents will be listed in LoLA as unsatisfied requirements.
  3. The financial aid office will make any necessary corrections.
  4. When your application is completely processed by the financial aid office, your award information will be available in L0LA.
  5. Students may accept, reduce, or decline financial aid offers in LoLA.

*If you are accepting a loan for the first time, you are required to complete an Entrance Counseling Session and electronically sign a Mastery Promissory Note (MPN) online at www.studentaid.gov.

Transfer Students:

If you have already completed a FAFSA for your present school, log back onto that FAFSA, add RPCC’s school code (037894), sign with your FSA ID and submit.

**All students are encouraged to log on to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) using his/her Federal Student Aid PIN and view Pell grant and/or student loan usage.

Online Student Access to Financial Aid

  1. Go to RPCC’s website.
  2. Click on the block entitled “Current Student”.
  3. Click on LoLA: Log On Louisiana.
  4. Click on LoLA under Log into LoLA.
  5. Enter your “User Name” and “Password” in the empty blocks provided, and click Login.
  6. Click on the words Financial Aid that are highlighted under “River Parish Community College” in the “Self Service Banner” block.
  7. Click on “River Parishes Community College” under the section entitled “Financial Aid Links”.
  8. Select the appropriate award year at the top of the page
  9. Select the tab containing the information you would like to view (such as requirements, satisfactory academic progress, award offer etc).

To accept Award:

  1. Go to RPCC’s website.
  2. Click on the block entitled “Current Student”.
  3. Click on LoLA: Log On Louisiana.
  4. Click on LoLA under Log into LoLA.
  5. Enter your “User Name” and “Password” in the empty blocks provided, and click Login.
  6. Click on the words Financial Aid that are highlighted under “River Parish Community College” in the “Self Service Banner” block.
  7. Click on “River Parishes Community College” under the section entitled “Financial Aid Links”.
  8. Select the appropriate award year at the top of the page
  9. Select Award Offer tab and scroll down to locate your award
  10. Select accept, decline or modify (specifying the amount) next to the award, then click submit.
  11. Review the 1st tab to verify no additional requirements are needed.
  12. Review Satisfactory Academic Progress tab to confirm eligibility.
