IE Committee

Institutional Research and Effectiveness Committee

The purpose of the Institutional Effectiveness committee is to promote activities and practices that increase the overall effectiveness of the college. The committee is responsible for providing oversight and advisement concerning institutional planning, assessment, and reporting results of RPCC’s institutional effectiveness process. This is an ongoing cycle which includes the evaluation of the College’s instructional and non-instructional programs and services areas. The mission is to provide comprehensive information to support strategic planning, decision making and evaluation of effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Compile annual reports and disseminate analysis of information to faculty. (As the college approaches a SACSCOC activity, members are expected to be actively engaged on the committee, and to remain on the committee until the SACSCOC activity is )
  • Analysis and dissemination of data relative to student performance and student demographics
  • Develop and provide oversight for the college’s Institutional Effectiveness Plan
  • Collaborate across departments/divisions to provide assessment training to faculty and staff to promote data-driven decision-making, Providing guidance and expertise on assessment issues
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of an institutional effectiveness website and assessment repository
  • Coordinate with academic affairs to support assessment of student learning and program audits including the development of rubrics
  • Coordinates with academic and non-academic units to support assessment of strategic and annual objectives
  • Ensure compliance with required reporting – both internal and external (e.g., IPEDS, )
  • Design and administer surveys and analyses and disseminate results (e.g., CCSSE, SENSE, institutional-created surveys)
  • Engage in benchmarking based on survey data (e.g., CCSSE) and other data sources
  • Participate in planning sessions to ensure the integration of assessment strategies into the long- term vision
  • Gather, compile, and communicate information and action items for LCTCS and RPCC institutional research and effectiveness requirements
  • Timely, quality contributions on program review and assessment practices, policies, and experiences
