Hurricane Ida

Post Storm Updates

RPCC Gonzales and Westside campuses sustained no damage and are now open.

RPCC Reserve and St. Charles campuses sustained significant damages and are still currently close.  Some classes have been moved to online or to Gonzales, unfortunately, others have been canceled for the semester.  Please review the attached document to see the changes that have been made in your schedule due to Hurricane Ida impacts.  Post-Hurricane Schedule Changes      Please review your Canvas regularly as this will change as our locations reopen.

What does this mean for you?

Though recovery efforts seem more promising every day, we realize that this event may have caused you to reconsider your educational priority at this time. We understand and want to help. So, if you have been significantly impacted by Hurricane Ida and believe that you will be unable to successfully complete your Fall 2021 coursework, please complete the Disaster Impact Form by October 1, 2021. Completion of this form will allow us to determine your eligibility for a full or partial tuition expense adjustment and make authorized adjustments in your student account for you.

Please know that supports are in place to help you succeed.  If you would like to move forward in your educational journey. Please reach out to your instructor or Student Services for more assistance.

RPCC Rougarou Recovery Pantry

The Rougarou Recovery Pantry, started by our compassionate faculty members Laura Kamath and Effie Moten has opened for our Staff, Faculty, and Students.  Sharon LaGarde has also been instrumental in bringing in the support of the Rougarou SGA.  For those looking for a way to help, we are currently accepting Cash donations through our Foundation, as well as asking for assistance with our Amazon wish list. Supplies that you purchase through Amazon will be shipped to the Gonzales campus.  We are also accepting donations on site.  Donations can be dropped off M-F 9 am-5 pm.  We are also looking for volunteers to work from 4 pm- 6 pm on M,W,F. If you would like to volunteer, please reach out to Laura or Effie.

If you are in need of assistance, the pantry is located at our Gonzales campus in the BASF Conference room and will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 pm-6 pm.  We ask that you submit an online or paper request for needs, and we will fill those as the items become available.
