Your instructors are a great resource and can provide support as you navigate through college. Full-time faculty have office hours, which are set times when they are available to meet with students to discuss a particular class, provide additional instruction or tutoring, or even to explore career options in their field. Part-time faculty, or adjunct instructors, don't have standard offices or office hours, but are available to meet with you before or after class or by appointment.
Membership in a student organization is a great way to learn new skills, build friendships, gain unique opportunities, and contribute to the community. RPCC encourages students to enrich their academic experience by becoming involved in campus organizations and activities:
Future Teachers of Louisiana
Future Teachers of Louisiana was formed to bring students together who have a common interest in teaching. Club members participate in various projects, including teacher in-service days, substitute teaching, volunteering in classrooms, and LEAP tutoring sessions.
Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society with the purpose of recognizing and encouraging the academic achievement of two-year college students. Students who have completed at least 12 hours of college credit with at least a 3.50 GPA are eligible for membership.
The newly created Photography Club seeks to encourage and support interest in photography, and to bring together both experienced and novice photographers to exchange ideas and images.
Student Government Association (SGA)
SGA exists to provide the student body with a means to deal with the affairs of students and as a forum for the expression of student views concerning student life within the College. SGA sponsors and is involved in many activities throughout the year.
