If your course is not listed in your Blackboard account, contact blackboard@rpcc.edu.

All other Blackboard problems should be emailed to blackboard@rpcc.edu. The subject of the email should include the RPCC Blackboard problem or the course name and issue.

General Blackboard help - NEW STUDENT IDs!

What is the student username and password to logon to Blackboard?
     rp + [first initial] + [last name] + [last 3 digits of your Social Security Number]
     Example: John Smith (SS# 123456789) - rpjsmith789
     Your password is [rpcc] + [last 4 digits of your SS#] (unless you have changed it)
     Example: rpcc6789

Faculty IDs for Blackboard have not changed.
     Send an email to blackboard@rpcc.edu if you do not remember your faculty Blackboard ID.

Minimum Requirements to use Blackboard

Platform: PC: Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Mac:10.2, 10.3, 10.4
Hardware: 512 MB of RAM, 2gb free disk space
Internet: broadband connection (cable or DSL)
Note: Javascript, Pop-Ups, & Cookies must be enabled

RPCC recommended requirements to use Blackboard

Platform: Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4) & Windows XP (Service Pack 2)

NOTE 1: If you have problems with Windows Vista operating system and Blackboard, there is a setting adjustment in Blackboard that will enable you to access text boxes in the Discussion Board and in other locations in Blackboard without the Java and HTML features.

NOTE 2: Microsoft Office 2007 documents may not open in older versions of Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word documents, PowerPoint documents, and Excel documents unless the documents are saved in the 2003 format or a converter is installed. RPCC instructors use MS Office 2003 software.

There is a FREE conversion patch available at the Microsoft website that will enable users to open, view, and edit Office 2007 documents in Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003 versions of the software. Click HERE to find the converters.

Microsoft Works is not a valid alternative to the Microsoft Office Suite.
It is recommended that you save all word-processed documents as Rich Text Format (.rtf) files
