Class visits African American Museum

To honor February's Black History Month, River Parishes Community College's Dr. Woukeenia Cousin took her African American Studies class on a visit Feb. 26 to the River Road African American Museum in Donaldsonville, La. "The class not only saw history that was made, but (also visited) the Freedom Garden a block away," Cousins said. The students, shown from left to right, are Jerel Williams, Lori Ellis, Ashley McCarthy, Chelsey LeBlanc, Chelsie Shivers, Antonio Stokes, Shirin Bovie and Charles Morrise. (The woman and baby are unnamed visitors.)
