Atmos Energy Corporation (Atmos Energy) sponsored the first classroom in what will be the first building constructed at the site of the future home of River Parishes Community College (RPCC).

This generous donation supports the RPCC Foundation Capital Campaign for Phase II construction of the new Advanced Technology Center, which will house technical programs that are currently housed on Airline Highway in Sorrento.  Phase I construction is for a building that will house the academic programs and administrative offices currently housed at the academic campus on John LeBlanc Boulevard in Sorrento.

Atmos Energy Corporation is one of the country's largest natural- gas-only distributors, serving about three million natural gas distribution customers in over 1,400 communities in nine states from the Blue Ridge Mountains in the East to the Rocky Mountains in the West. Atmos Energy also provides natural gas marketing and procurement services to industrial, commercial and municipal customers primarily in the Midwest and Southeast and manages company-owned natural gas pipeline and storage assets, including one of the largest intrastate natural gas pipeline systems in Texas.

Atmos Energy has been a long-time supporter of RPCC through generous donations such as this and participation in the RPCC Foundation Annual Golf Tournament.  Mr. Frank Marino, Vice President of Marketing at Atmos Energy, has also supported RPCC through his service on the RPCC Foundation Board.

The River Parishes Community College Foundation (RPCC Foundation) is a 501(c)3 organization that supports the college through fundraising efforts.  The RPCC Foundation raises funds through two main campaigns, the Annual Fund Campaign and the Capital Campaign.  The Annual Fund Campaign supports RPCC with ongoing costs in four categories: student scholarships, faculty excellence, programming and greatest needs.  The Capital Campaign covers major one-time expenses such as private funding for RPCC’s Advanced Technology Center.
