River Parishes Community College (RPCC) and Louisiana State University signed a transfer agreement for the Coastal Environmental Science programs. This transfer agreement, which is known as a 2+2 Agreement, allows students who complete RPCC’s Associate of Science Degree: Biological Sciences Track with a Coastal Environmental Science Concentration to transfer into LSU’s Coastal Environmental Science bachelor’s program as a junior.
On hand to sign the Memorandum of Understanding were RPCC Chancellor Dr. Joe Ben Welch and LSU Chancellor Dr. Michael Martin.
Dr. Welch expressed his delight in working with LSU to offer students additional higher education transfer options.
“This 2+2 agreement means that RPCC students who complete our associate degree can transfer into LSU with more transferable credits,” Dr. Welch emphasized. “This agreement helps students reach their goals by decreasing the barriers to transitioning to LSU’s Coastal Environmental Science program.”
This 2+2 agreement is one of many that RPCC has with four-year colleges and universities.
