Three members of River Parishes Community College (RPCC) were honored at the 2012 Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) Awards banquet on Friday, March 9.
Savitha Pinnepalli, Annie Holben, and Alicia Bateman received awards as RPCC’s Outstanding Faculty Member, Outstanding Professional Staff Member and Outstanding Professional Support Staff Member, respectively, for 2012.
Savitha Pinnepalli has been teaching computer science at RPCC since 2007. She came to RPCC with over eight years of teaching experience from LSU, where she was awarded the Tiger Athletic Foundation Undergraduate Teaching Award in 2001.
Savitha earned her first of two Master’s degrees from Bangalore University in India before coming to the United States in 1996. Savitha later earned her second Master’s degree in Engineering Science from LSU.
Annie Holben is an academic counselor at RPCC, a position she has held for the last three years. Annie has over 15 years experience as a college and academic counselor.
Annie also holds a Master’s degree in Dance from the University of Colorado, and a Certificate in Higher Education Counseling from the University of Southern California.
Alicia Bateman is an administrative assistant on the technical campus, where she has served the RPCC students and faculty and staff for the last four years. Alicia has a special fondness for RPCC because she earned her degree here in 2006.
After working at the Louisiana Technical College-Ascension (LTC-A) Campus for several years, Alicia rejoined the RPCC family when the two schools merged in 2010.
